Location
Downtown Palm Springs is situated between the one-way streets Palm Canyon Drive (southbound) on the west and Indian Wells Drive (northbound) on the east.
The Art Museum, Forever Marilyn, Palm Springs Park and other public artworks are two blocks west of Indian Canyon drive.

The Walk of the Stars runs along Palm Canyon Drive, Museum Drive, Museum Way, and Canyon Way. Don’t miss the life-sized statues of Sonny Bono and Lucille Ball!

As with Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, the Coachella Valley is crowded with interconnected towns, including Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, Indio, Coachella, and Desert Hot Springs.

Ontario airport is 68.5 miles west on I-10
LAX airport is 125 miles west on I-10

Ground Transportation
Hotel Zoso is 4 short blocks from the Star location, and 1.5 blocks from Welwood Murray Memorial Library, so ground transportation is unnecessary for those arriving by air and shuttling to Hotel Zoso.

Palm Springs is approximately 105 miles east of Los Angeles on I-10
Palm Springs is approximately 270 miles west of Phoenix on I-10
Palm Springs is 232 miles southwest of Las Vegas through the desert, 280 miles via I-15 and I-10

Parking
Downtown Palm Springs has plentiful free parking. There are parking garages and three-hour street parking. Hotel Zoso room registration includes free overnight parking for one car per room.

Our Special Guest for this event is Tommy Cook, star of two Edgar Rice Burroughs films, the serial Jungle Girl (1941) and Tarzan and the Leopard Woman (1946).

Tommy is one of the last living actors of the Johnny Weissmuller era, and has a lifetime of stories to tell. Tommy will join us at the unveiling ceremony, will sit for a Q&A with us, will be selling and signing stills of his film roles and discussing his career with fans.

Tommy Cook Tommy Cook: Born on July 5, 1930 in Duluth, Minnesota
He started as a child actor and played many ethnic and juvenile delinquent roles on film.

He portrayed Little Beaver on film and on Mutual Radio's "The Adventures of Red Ryder" (1942-1945). He also had a role in ERB's Jungle Girl. He turned to promoting and producing in his adult years and did many voice roles in animated TV and feature film productions.
