The Centennial of Tarzan and John Carter was commemorated at this year's Comic-Con with a Joe Jusko Tarzan cover on the events guide. This souvenir book also included ERB-related articles and original art commissions.

Two Tarzan panels were also highlights of the event. The first panel, which was moderated by Mark Evanier, was attended by a capacity crowd of fans. Featured on this first panel were personalities which are well known to ERB fans: David Lemmo, Thomas Yeates, Joe Jusko and Ron Ely. The participants shared anecdotes, discussions and samples of their art work, and a slide show outlining the history of the ape-man.

The second panel was moderated by Jim Sullos, president of Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. Yeates and Jusko appeared on this panel also along with novelist/screenwriter Robin Maxwell (Jane: The Woman Who Loved Tarzan) and author/actor Scott Tracy Griffin (Tarzan: The Centennial Celebration).

Many other ERB-related celebrities were in attendance to meet fans and to sign autographs, including Casper Van Dien (Tarzan in the film Tarzan and the Lost City) and Olivia D’Abo (Jane in Disney’s The Legend of Tarzan), Mark Schultz, Gary Gianni, Larry Hama, and Rudy Nebres. ERB characters were also well represented by fans who showed up in imaginative and autentic costumes.

Of special note was the high profile “Take Me Back to Barsoom” group that garnered well over 1000 signatures from fans who demanded a sequel to the recent Disney film, John Carter (of Mars)
