The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum is the presidential library and final resting place of George H. W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States. It is located on a 360,000 m2 site on the west campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

We visited the library as part of our tour of Texas A&M which followed our participation in the 2014 Edgar Rice Burroughs Dum-Dum Convention. Interestingly George Bush and Edgar Rice Burroughs both attended Phillips Andover Academy. ERB for only short time before moving on to Michigan Military Academy.

The mission of the facility is to preserve and make available for research the official records, personal papers, and artifacts of President Bush, to support democracy, promote civic education, and increase historical understanding of U.S. national experience through the life and times of George Bush. 

The museum's core exhibits revealed the unique influences and challenges that shaped George Bush's life and presidency. Through artifacts, film, photographs, documents, music, sound effects and interactive videos, the museum experience encompassed much of U.S. history since 1941. Outstanding attractions include a World War II Avenger Torpedo Bomber, a 1947 Studebaker, a slab of the Berlin Wall, and precise replicas of President Bush's Camp David and Situation Room. In addition, there was a special section dedicated to First Lady Barbara Bush and her efforts on behalf of literacy, AIDS awareness and prevention, and volunteerism.
