She also appeared on Broadway in "Watch on the Rhine" and with Katherine Hepburn in "As You Like It. She worked as a freelance correspondent for the Voice of America.

BIO: A former model, beautiful Dorothy Hart was signed to a contract by Universal Pictures after having made only one film, Columbia's "The Gunfighter". However, the studio system couldn't quite find a place for a woman with her carriage and elegance, and relegated her to westerns, costume dramas, prison sagas and Tarzan movies in which she made each role a memorable one.

BIO: Vera Miles attended school in Pratt, Kansas and Wichita, Kansas. Entering the beauty pageant circuit, she became "Miss Kansas" in 1948, and went to Hollywood soon after. She began landing small roles in minor films and in television. After a few such roles, she was cast by John Ford as the spunky ingenue in the Western classic The Searchers (1956). More leading roles quickly followed, and for a brief period she shone in a number of major films. However much of her subsequent work, both in feature films and in television movies, has been in material considerably below her abilities. Was a favorite of Alfred Hitchcock after Grace Kelly retired, but pregnancy prevented her from starring roles.

BIO: Born in Houston, Texas, and raised in Fort Worth, Eve Brent  began her career in radio and early television and later moved on to the college and little theater stage. Arriving in Hollywood with a husband and infant son in the '50s, she landed her first movies (Gun Girls, Journey into Freedom, The Bride and the Beast) and episodic TV roles. Auteur director Sam Fuller changed her name to Eve Brent when she appeared in his 1957 Western, Forty Guns, the first of dozens of screen roles for her under that name. She then played Jane opposite Gordon Scott's Tarzan in Tarzan's Fight for Life and in episodes of a Tarzan TV series. In addition to her big-screen and episodic TV assignments, Brent has appeared in hundreds of commercials.

BIO: Nancy Kovack was a student at the University of Michigan at 15, a radio deejay at 16, a college grad at 19 and the holder of eight beauty titles by 20. Her professional acting career began on TV in New York, first as one of Jackie Gleason's Glea Girls and then, more prominently, on "The Dave Garroway Show", "The Today Show" and "Beat the Clock". A stage role opened Hollywood doors for Kovack, who signed with Columbia. She later racked up an impressive list of episodic TV credits, and was Emmy- nominated for a 1969 guest shot on "Mannix". The wife of world-renowned maestro Zubin Mehta of New York Philharmonic Fame, Kovack publicly alleges that she was recently bamboozled (to the tune of $150,000) by Susan McDougal, a central figure in the Whitewater scandal. BIO: Aliza Gur was Miss Israel of 1960, and was a runner up to Miss Universe that same year. Her parents left Germany during Hitler's reign and settled in Israel where she and her brother were born. She eventually came to the United States and settled in California where she began her film and television career. Her parents came to the United States and settled in Cleveland Ohio for a time. Birth Name: Kirston Svanholm
While filming Tarzan, King of the Jungle in 1970, on location at Rainbow Springs, Steve Hawkes (Tarzan) and Kitty Swan (Jane) were badly burned. During the filming of a torture scene, the two actors were tied to stakes when gasoline-soaked leaves ignited and both were burned seriously. They were rushed to the University of Florida Medical Centre in Gainsville. They remained there for months for skin graft treatment, while the rest of the crew departed for Bogota, Columbia and on to Spain, to shoot more scenes. (Eventual 1974 release in  Spain)

THE LAND THAT TIME FORGOT

Susan Penhaligon was born on July 3, 1949 in Manila, Philippines where her father was working as an engineer for Shell Petroleum. Returning with her parents to England, she attended boarding school in Bristol, and, at 16, joined the Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. After appearances in TV plays, she made her motion picture debut in a small part in Under the Milk Wood with Peter O'Toole, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. This led to more work in film, including the title role in Julie Knoepcke as a sole survivor in an air crash in the Amazon jungles. In The Land That Time Forgot,  she plays a young biologist on her way to carry out research work in Africa. She is the sole female survivor when her ship is torpedoed by a German U-boat in the Atlantic.

Dana played the native girl, Ajor, from pre-history in this sequel to The Land That Time Forgot.

She first made waves as a model in a series of saucy Calvin Klein TV commercials, which led to her casting in Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984), but the producers decided that her Southern accent was too noticeable, and asked Glenn Close to dub all her lines after the fact. She has been chosen by People Magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world. In 1988, she became a member of the New York City Church of Christ. She left the group shortly afterward when she was being forbidden by the leadership to take part in Steven Soderbergh's Sex, Lies and Videotape (1989). Her eye-opening performance as the dissatisfied wife in that movie revealed an actress worth watching. The film propelled her, overnight, to the ranks of leading ladies. At her best, MacDowell is able to project intelligence along with sex appeal. In 2000, Andie MacDowell filed suit against Wal-Mart for displaying her picture in several stores without permission.

Peninsula. When the producers of "Tarzan" were searching for an actress to play the role of Jane, the well-educated, contemporary and passionate scientist, they needed only to meet with Lydie to find exactly who they were looking for.
