About a half dozen years ago or so I decided to try my hand at illustrating Foster's masterpiece with my own visions using his own text, starting from the beginning.  He had started out doing a full twelve panels per page.  In those days, he actually got a whole page to display his strip.  I based my experiment on today's page layout, which would only allow for six panels, so the first two week installments were divided into four weeks.  That's as far as I took it but I think the result was pretty good.  I even attempted to keep a Hal Foster "look" to my own work.
