Carson Napier, wealthy young aviator, student of Hindu mysticism, tells Mr. Burroughs of his intended trip to Mars in a giant rocket-torpedo. As a test he projects his astral self into Mr. Burroughs' office. Hence Mr. Burroughs is the medium through which, my mental telepathy, Napier communicates this story of his adventures among other worlds.
