BLOOD-BROTHER OF THE APES ~ 1933.04.16
Tarzan caught the next branch and whirled around in a giant swing. He landed on Ptok's back. As the great ape tore at the bonds that held the Princess Nikotris. Ptok turned quickly and caught the ape-man off his guard. While they battled in the trees numa the lion stood below waiting for the first to fall.

Suddenly Tarzan caught Ptok by leg and arm. . . swung him high above his head. . . and dashed him down toward numa's gaping jaws.

But, as Ptok dropped unconscious at a blow from the lion's sledge-hammer paw. . . Tarzan, blood brother of the apes, unwilling to see even an enemy-ape destroyed before his eyes, hurled himself through the air and fiercely attacked the king of the beasts.
