II. JOHNNY'S PERSONAL STUFF

1. This is the story about Johnny's notebook
On June 27, 1970, Johnny Weissmuller was the guest of honor at the "International Swimming Marathon". Tarzan collector Ben Velthuis was also present there and did not leave Johnny's side all day long. From that day on, Ben maintained a close friendship with Johnny and they corresponded regularly.

Ben handed Johnny a note book with a ballpoint pen that Johnny could use to sign autographs. So Johnny ripped pages from the booklet and shared his autographs. Johnny finally wrote his address in the notebook and handed it back at the end of the day.

A few years ago I was able to buy this booklet from Ben together with his complete collection.

About 2 years ago there was an autograph by Weissmuller for sale in the Netherlands on an online second-hand site. When I bought this and received it at home, my suspicion turned out to be correct, the paper once came from this booklet, it fit perfectly. Unbelievable that this piece of paper with Johnny's signature and the booklet were back together after almost 50 years.

As you can see Johnny also wore a Z badge, which I also have in my collection.

Attached you will find the famous notebook and a photo of Johnny together with Ben Velthuis. The photo was also used for the "Utrechts Nieuwsblad" (Newspaper)
And a photo of the signature I bought on the online second hand site.

2. JOHNNY'S CARDS
These cards are all from Johnny Weissmuller's wallet.
Unfortunately, I do not own the wallet itself.
All these items are from the collection that I bought in America

3. DOCUMENTS

This is a letter headed by MGM.
Presumably this letter was written after Johnny broke his hip.

Click
This is a boarding pass and he was also accompanied by his daughter Lisa Weissmuller.
Plus documents from Johnny's personal stuff.

3. JOHNNY'S TIE
Johnny Weissmuller wore this tie during his wedding party with his last wife Maria Bauman,
I bought it from a Dutch collector who had a close correspondence with Johnny.
