Over the years we have been invited by Phil Collins, Disney and Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. to attend Opening Night Premieres and After-Show festivities for the Tarzan Musical in major theatres at Broadway, Holland, Hamburg and Tuacahn, USA. 

In 2014, we were excited to hear that our local theatre company, MECCA Productions, were producing the play in our hometown. We were even more pleased when producer/director/actor Lisa Vas (a former student of mine) picked our minds for ideas and invited us to their premiere. 

We were very proud to see their production to be such a success, featuring a top-notch cast with spot-on vocals, acting, choreography, acrobatics, costumes, sets, etc. Sue-On snapped a series of photos from our front centre seats and we also captured photos before and after the show.

Seeing the evolution of the play since the Broadway debut has been very interesting. Songs and scenes have been replaced or adapted for maximum appeal in the many countries in which it has appeared - there was even a production in Sweden. Watching Phil Collins' reactions to his play being performed in Dutch and German was especially amusing. An added bonus for us was the chance to spend time with Phil Collins, the performers, and a host of entertainment luminaries who have shown up at the production and after-show parties over the years.
