The Pulpville Press line reprints many of the old-time pulp writers, including ERB, Otis Adelbert Kline, Ralph Milne Farley, and others. All of these works are released in 6x9 inch trade paperbacks and 6x9 inch hardcovers with dust jackets. Currently, there are 33 ERB's available, 7 Farley's, 2 Kline's, and many more for other authors.

All of the ERB reprints are from their first magazine appearance or some other early appearance and the Pulpville line is now reprinting the newspaper versions of ERB's stories. All of these versions (magazine and newspaper) are different from the hardcover versions, and none of them are the "censored" Tarzan versions. Virtually all of the books come with their original illustrations, both interior and exterior (some have new or old/new artwork if the original version had no artwork).

There is a softcover and hardcover version of the book by Richard C. Spargur which compares "Tarzan of the Apes" magazine text versus book text, which is sold at cost. Jerry Schneider's own "Edgar Rice Burroughs and the Silver Screen" series (vol. 1 and 4) is available in both softcover and hardcover. And there is a variety of other items available, including a few calendars.

Phil Normand has just finished the fourth in his series of alternate dust jackets for Edgar Rice Burroughs collectors.

This new dust jacket for the Canaveral Press edition of JOHN CARTER OF MARS is designed using J. Allen St. John's cover from the "Amazing Stories" magazine of January, 1941 which first published the novelette, "John Carter and the Giant of Mars." It has been known since 1963 that the actual author of the story was Burroughs' artist son, John Coleman Burroughs, and in honor of that fact Normand has designed the titling and author lettering of the jacket using J.C. Burroughs' logo and signature from his "John Carter of Mars" Sunday comic strip. The spine art uses a portrait panel of John Carter from the strip and is designed to match up with the penultimate volume in the Mars series, LLANA OF GATHOL published by Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. in 1948.

Normand has previously created alternate dust jackets for SAVAGE PELLUCIDAR, THUVIA, MAID OF MARS and A FIGHTING MAN OF MARS which bring together art references of bibliographic importance to the books, thereby creating truly alternate "might-have-been" dust jackets and not just redesigns.

"I have a copy of 'Pellucidar'  in my possession which was signed for me in January 1943 by the author during his visit to Australia as a US war correspondent. At the time I was working for MGM, in their Sydney office.  There is a reference to this visit at http://www.erbzine.com/mag10/1046.html
"The book was published by Methuen & Co. Ltd. London, England in 1935. Cover, binding and pages are all intact, there is some light foxing on the pages and minor scuff marks on the cover.  The book is a ‘cheap’ edition, is not illustrated and there is no dust jacket. I can also supply photocopies of correspondence on MGM letterhead which definitely establishes my employment at that time and place. 

 "I was not able to speak to the great man personally, being a very junior employee at the time, only seventeen.  My boss obligingly asked him for me and he very graciously obliged. Incidentally, in September of that year I enlisted in the R.A.A.F. returning briefly to MGM after the war ended."

Since Weston kept carbon copies of his own letters, the material comprises a record of a lifelong friendship that had begun in the 1890s, when the two men met in military school.
